Hym & Hur by Phillip Frey....

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Over the last couple of days I have had the chance to read the Fantasy/Comedy short story by Phillip Frey, that comes out tomorrow.

I have to say this is truly one of the most unique books I have read. This astral comedy is definitely something that both the fantasy and comedy fans can enjoy together or separate.

From a breakfast date, to a bar and conversation with death, to walking in the park, to doing a survey in a grocery parking lot, to an accident that could change a life forever, this story takes you on a journey through Hym & Hurs eyes.

Along the way, Hym & Hur intertwine with another couple and their life. The couple ends up being an artist and nurse that Hym & Hur end up getting intertwined with.

Little do Hym & Hur know, that while lives are intertwined, that the deal that gets made with death, comes back to bite them in the butt royally.

One of the most interesting parts of this story takes place, when a woman gets hit by a bus driver, and a man that turns out to be her boyfriend is there when it happens. He ends up being able to save her life, with his touch. Little does he know it is part of the deal that was made with death by Hym & Hur.

Another interesting part takes place in the hospital morgue where an autopsy is taking place and the man of the couple who life Hym and Hur are intertwined with is sketching a cadaver on the exam table. The conversation he has with the mortician is very interesting. During the conversation he is egged on by the mortician to touch the body on the table to confirm that it is not living. He does, and little does he know his touch will reawaken the corpse on the table. Which flips him out royally, and sends him booking it out of the morgue. (who can blame him, certainly not me.)

As the story moves along, we find that Hym and Hur want to cancel the deal they made with death. But the deal can only be broken at a certain time. So, until the deal can be broken, Hym and Hurs life stay intertwined with the couple they are watching over.

The journey for both couples continues, and it has the ups and downs as expected.

In the end, we find Hym, Hur and death in the middle of a storm and death all around them, that does not seem to be ending. . Death tells Hym to bring the man to him that the deal was made about to him. Hym basically tells him fat chance, and death gives him props for standing up to him.

What people do not realizes unless they pay attention, is that all of this is being seen through the stone of a ring that Hym made for Hur.

It is a very happy ending in the final chapter with a wedding and a first art show.

To learn the in between, you will have to get the book to read it. It really is a fun book that does take you all over  from one plane to another.

As mentioned before this is for the lovers of fantasy and comedy. This would even work for the sci-fi lover also. No matter what genre you love, you should put this on your short story bucket list to read, you will enjoy it.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
